STEP 3 / Nivalis

STEP 3 is the sole distributor of ZooBiotic's LarvE® products in France and it's overseas départements et territories. Our company, based near to Vichy in the Massif Central, has been involved in maggot therapy since 2003, initiating many of the first modern treatments in France, mainly in the military hospitals in Bordeaux and Lyons. In the spring of 2005 France modified it's regulatory position regarding maggots which are now considered a drug.

In September 2006 maggots received their first Temporary use Authorisation from the AFSSAPS (French Sanitary Control Authority) and many successful treatments have since been delivered to an ever increasing number of hospitals all over the country under our Nivalis® distribution trademark.

For the time being, maggot therapy in France is limited to treatments carried out in a hospital setting but sometimes as an outpatient procedure.

STEP 3 est le représentant et distributeur exclusive en France et les DOM TOM des produits LarvE® de ZooBiotic. Notre société, installée à Hauterive, près de Vichy, s'intéresse à la Larvothérapie depuis 2003 et a initié la plupart des premiers traitements modernes par larves de Lucilia Sericata, notamment aux hôpitaux militaires de Bordeaux et de Lyon.

Au printemps 2005 la France a modifié sa position vis à vis des larves, les classant dorénavant comme un médicament. En septembre 2006 l'AFSSAPS a délivré la première Autorisation Temporaire d'Autorisation (ATU) pour un traitement par larves. Aujourd'hui la larvothérapie est employée avec succès dans un nombre toujours croissant d'établissements en France où elles est proposée sous notre enseigne commercial Nivalis®

A l'heure actuelle, la larvothérapie est limitée en France à une utilisation en milieu hospitalier, certains traitements s'effectuant cependant en hospitalisation de jour.
